Young, beautiful, wealthy, and widowed Lady Lizzie Eustace plots and lies to keep a fabulous necklace and to gain the love and protection of her imagined “corsair.” Her in-laws’ solicitor fights for the return of the diamonds to their rightful heirs. Their theft causes further complications.

The Eustace Diamonds was originally serialized in the Fortnightly Review, July 1871 to February 1873. It was published in three volumes by Chapman & Hall in 1873. The novel is the third in the Palliser series.

About the Narrator

Flo Gibson was one of the best known and most prolific narrators of audiobooks, having recorded more than 1,000 titles for the Library of Congress and seven commercial companies. Flo was a familiar voice to listening audiences during the golden years of radio, and performed as an actress in the E.T.O. during World War II and at Equity Library Theater in New York. She founded Audio Book Contractors in 1983 and produced more than 750 unabridged versions of literature’s finest works. Her narration won national acclaim, four times on the American Library Association’s “Notable Recordings for Children” lists and three times as the recipient of the Parents’ Choice Award. She was also named “Best Female Narrator” in the Audio Awards article in Book World. Flo Gibson passed away in January 2011.
